TO DONATE $1 FROM EACH SALE TO THE SCOLIOSIS ASSOCIATION
Smink
Works Books will donate $1 from each sale of the new release Sex, Scars & a Superheroine with Scoliosis to the Scoliosis Association
of Australia.
The
semi-autobiographical novel tells the story of a young woman
who lives her life to the full, despite dealing with the
serious curvature of the spine known as Scoliosis. Diagnosed
while living in under-resourced Eastern Europe, she is encased
in a plastic “bucket”, migrates to Australia
and eventually has a titanium rod inserted in her back.
Scoliosis
Association President Susan Willis says it is important
for people who have Scoliosis to be able to talk about their
experiences. “Many people are ashamed of having Scoliosis
because they think it is perceived as a deformity. It is
important for them know there are other people going through
the same thing. That is the reason we established the Scoliosis
Association.”
Sex,
Scars & a Superheroine with Scoliosis is now
out in e-book format.
